Keyboard Language
You can configure the StarLite with the keyboards listed above. All of the Linux distributions we offer pre-installed will prompt you to select your input language the first time you turn it on. You can also change this in the future from the Settings window. Currently, we aren't able to offer any additional or custom layouts. Please subscribe to our newsletter to be notified when new options are available.
Intel Pentium N5030
Processor
The StarLite comes as standard with a 1.1GHz quad-core Intel Pentium N5030 processor, Burst up to 3.1GHz. The processor is on-board, and as such, it is not possible to upgrade at a later date.
8GB
Memory
The StarLite comes with 8GB 2400MHz DDR4 memory. The memory is on-board, and it is not possible to upgrade at a later date.
240GB SSD
Storage
The StarLite comes with a 240GB over-provisioned Star Drive SATA SSD which features a sequential read speed of up to 560MB/s. Over-provisioning increases performance and IOPS (Input/Output Operations per Second) whilst enhancing reliability and endurance. You can upgrade or replace the SSD at any time, which will require a small Philips screwdriver.
Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
Operating System
The StarLite is built specifically for Linux. You can choose from a selection of pre-installed distributions including Ubuntu, elementary OS, Linux Mint, Manjaro and Zorin OS. If you prefer something else, you can choose to have no operating system installed. You can also check all distributions we have tested here. You can easily change the installed Linux distribution at any time using a USB flash drive by following this guide.
American Megatrends
Firmware
The StarLite supports either American Megatrends (AMI) Aptio V or coreboot. AMI firmware is closed-source and has many features including Secure Boot and capsule updates. coreboot is open-source and is very light-weight, which allows for faster boot time and less power consumption. More information on the differences can be found here. By default, the Intel ME is disabled on both coreboot and AMI. You can switch between AMI and coreboot firmware at any time by following this guide.

The StarLite charges either via the USB-C port or the DC Jack and comes with a 65W USB-C charger. It includes one detachable plug, and you choose from UK, Europe, Australia and the USA. You can find additional plugs here.

DC Jack (2m)
Charge Cable
The StarLite includes a USB-C to DC Jack Charge Cable (2m) by default. You can select an alternative charging cables. These are available in either 2-metre or 5-metre lengths with either USB-C or DC Jack connectors. USB-C cables support power, video output and data transfer whereas DC Jack cables only support power. Both cables charge at the same speed; which cable suits you best will depend on which external devices you plan to connect. You can view our full range of accessories here.
